I work remotely for a great corporate firm as a lead trainer, answering calls for law firms throughout the US. I also work from home as a freelance graphic designer and a face painter, and own Sonya Rae Studios, dba Creative Illusions Face Painting & Henna and Sonya Rae Design Co. I spend free time remodeling my home and refinishing furniture, and love creating something new from someone else's junk. I have five kiddos, ages 16 through 28, a daughter-in-law and three amazing grandsons, plus a bonus daughter, five dogs, and seven chickens, so my job is never done, nor is life ever boring!
It was a cold winter day in Texas when I arrived at a shelter to pick out a kitty. I sat on the floor in front of the open cages, and Chandler walked over and plopped himself on my lap. The owner told me this was a snowshoe baby, about eight months old, who was rescued from a ravine near their facility. Chandler rolled over on my lap and bared his belly and purred and purred. He was the softest and most relaxed kitty I had ever held - so silky. He went home with us that night. Afterward, with further research, we determined that he was not a snowshoe at all, but a Ragdoll. It was love at first touch! He has since passed on, and after years of rescuing and fostering, and lots of consideration, I decided to start breeding as a hobby.
Our sweet, but hefty blue bi-color boy Oliver, and our adorable seal mitted Stella were the first to steal our hearts. In addition to our Ragdolls, we also have a rambunctious female Pug, Maycee, a stunning black male German Shepherd, Max and the cutest blue merle Australian Shepherd, Sadie. Recently joining our zoo, err..crew, is our sweet Jersey girl, a beautiful Great Pyrenees and protector of our kitties. Remi is a pit/lab mix who stays outside and protects the chickens from unsuspecting crawfish... I have previously fostered for Barkville dog rescue group while I lived in Georgia, and a portion of every kitten sale is donated to local cat rescue groups! Giving back to our community is important to us, and we love rescues.
Our kitties are underfoot and have 24/7 access to their humans. Babies and momma are separated from the other furry members of the household in the nursery, located in our home, and kittens are introduced to the main household when they are around eight weeks of age and vaccinated. We love our fur babies as much as our human babes, and they are very spoiled! We have a "Stud room" in our new cattery building, and a "kitten room" with lots of vertical climbing spaces for the older kittens, if needed, just prior to transitioning to their new homes. Our Ragdolls are HCM and PKD negative through genetic testing.
Our small cattery is accredited with the BBB in Tulsa OK, and also registered with TICA under the name FURRYTAILRAGS. This is my fairy-tale life with Ragdolls, hence the play on words when I created "FurryTail" Rags. Our goal is to provide healthy, well socialized and loving Ragdolls that feature the best traits of the breed. I am committed to finding only the best homes for our babies and I look forward to meeting you!
